Explain to me with 3 episodes are unwatched here. Does anyone at your company use your service? Years and no one has fixed this issue. I wish youd get someone who could make a user friendly interface. pic.twitter.com/Q4ozy0kntC

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on June 24, 2021) follows:
Content streaming has seen a huge boom over the past few years as fast, reliable internet becomes more accessible and affordable for many people.
As a result, we’ve seen so many video-on-demand platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Hulu, and so on, becoming commonplace for netizens.
Hulu is an American subscription video-on-demand service that is fully controlled and majority-owned by The Walt Disney Company. Hulu along with Disney+ and ESPN+ are the three main Disney streaming platforms in the United States.
This rather popular streaming service comes bundled in some Spotify Premium tariffs, further making it more accessible for users in supported regions.
Now, however, it is coming to light that Hulu does have an issue when it comes to labeling its users’ watched content.
According to affected users, Hulu erroneously marks watched shows as unwatched. This makes it pretty hard for users to know where they left off a TV Show.
@hulu_support For the love of god tell me how to make episodes I’ve already watched stop showing as unwatched in “my stuff”.

hulu_support having an issue where several shows that I watch are not shown as watched: Blacklist shows: 5 unwatched shows yet have watched all, The Bachelorette season 17 episode 1 as unwatched, Shahs of Sunset 7 unwatched etc. Updated all apps.

This unwatched badge issue has been extensively brought to the attention of Hulu and since then, we have seen the company come out to acknowledge the issue and promise to fix it in an upcoming update.
Sorry for any disappointment! We’re aware of this issue with our Unwatched badging displaying improperly, and we hope to clear it up in the near future. We appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Affected users have one more request for Hulu, a built-in way to mark individual episodes or shows as watched or unwatched. This is a pretty dope suggestion that’s already gotten 7500+ upvotes and needs to be looked into. Hulu says it might consider this tweak.
In the meantime, Hulu subscribers can continue voting in this feature on Twitter and the Hulu Community.
To recall, this isn’t the first time we’re talking about an issue or bug with this video-on-demand platform. Recently, we saw Hulu come out to acknowledge the Apple TV ‘This video can’t be played’ error due to missing HDCP support issue.
We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for more on Hulu.
Update 1 (September 09)
01:25 pm (IST): Months later, this issue continues to afflict Hulu subscribers and now, the company has come out to clarify that they are still aware of this, noting that they may not provide any ETA for a fix.
We apologize for any ongoing frustration! While we don’t have an update to share, our team is aware of the behavior and are looking into it. We don’t have an ETA to provide, but we’ll certainly express the feedback on how this is affecting your experience using Hulu.
