The Oppo A54 was launched only recently in April but came with the dated ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10 out of the box for some reason.

At the time of its launch, around 8 months had passed since stable Android 11 first became available for all OEMs to adapt so Oppo sure had plenty of time to develop the latest version of Android for the device and ship it with it.

While that truly is unfortunate, Oppo A54 users do not need to wait much longer for Android 11. This is because Oppo has now announced the commencement of the Android 11 beta program for the device.

This comes following the announcement of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 stable and beta rollout plans for the month of June 2021, wherein several devices including Oppo A53, A54, Reno, and Reno2 Z are to be added under the Android 11 roster.

Nonetheless, the Android 11 beta program for the Oppo A54 has only been kickstarted in India at the moment but Oppo says that other regions are set to follow soon.

To apply for the beta version for your device, head over to Settings > Software update > Click the settings icon on the screen > Beta > Apply now.

You should then get the beta OTA update on your Oppo A54 if the application quota isn’t already full.

Be sure to backup your important data before proceeding with the update process to avoid data loss due to incompatibility or other unforeseen circumstances.

Do keep in mind that the application slot is between the dates of June 16 and June 23. Following the application, it may take up to a week for Oppo to review your application and roll out the update so be patient.

Of course, the Android 11 beta update is only under the testing phase currently so bugs and issues are inevitable.

Hence, if you did rather wait for a completely stable experience, then stay tuned to our ColorOS 11 update tracker.
