Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 came out in March 2020 with Android 10 out-of-the-box. However, the wait for the Android 11 update has been on for quite some time now.
The Galaxy Tab A 8.4 is offered by a lot of network service providers. Among them, popular Canadian network service provider, Telus.
While users of the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 have been waiting for the Android 11 update, it seems that the wait is finally coming to an end for some.
As per the Telus latest OS upgrade schedule, the update to One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 for the carrier-locked Galaxy Tab A 8.4 units in Canada is expected to come out on June 22.
This is certainly good news for those with the Telus Galaxy Tab A 8.4 units as they can finally enjoy all the goodies from One UI 3.1.
Network service providers like Telus are known for consistently updating their subscribers with software upgrade release dates.
While they also stick to their OS upgrade schedule for the most part, release dates for major software updates are always subject to change.
The case is same with the Telus OS upgrade schedule as it has been mentioned that the dates are subject to change.
Also, it is possible that all users with the Telus Galaxy Tab A 8.4 units might not get the said OS update on June 22 due to a phased roll out.
However, all this is still based on speculation until the network service provider starts rolling out the OS update for the device in question.
Hopefully, Telus sticks to its OS upgrade schedules for the Galaxy Tab A 8.4 as users have been rooting for the Android 11 update.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will report back once we have more details to share.
In the meantime, you can keep an eye on our dedicated One UI 3.1 and carrier Android 11 (Canada) trackers for the latest updates.
