The Vivo Y12s is an entry level device with decent specs for its price. The device comes with a fairly large 5000mAh battery, Mediatek Helio P35 processor, 6.51″ HD+ LCD display, and a 13 MP primary camera.
It was launched fairly recently in November 2020. This meant that it already arrived with FuntouchOS 11. However, the Android skin was still layered atop Android 10 even as Android 11 was already up and about.
Cut to now, it appears that the Android 11 update has been silently released for the Vivo Y12s. This was shared by a user on Twitter.
Oddly, there are no other reports regarding the Android 11 update anywhere so it could be possible that the build is currently only being rolled out to selected users.
But considering that we got a screenshot at hand and the fact that Vivo Kenya’s official Twitter handle has responded to the tweet, things can still be taken with a hint of officiality.
At present, we have not got our hands on a changelog for the update so intricate details regarding it and what security patch it brings along aren’t really available.
Still we will continue tracking the progress of the Android 11 update for the Vivo Y12s so stay tuned.
