By now, OnePlus has rolled out stable Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 to a majority of its eligible devices. The only devices remaining are the OnePlus 6 series of devices, and the OnePlus Nord N-devices.
There have been quite a number of issues with these OxygenOS 11 builds and you can learn more about these in our dedicated OxygenOS 11 bug tracker.
The OnePlus 7 series of devices haven’t been spared these issues and you can learn about many of these in our continued coverage of the OnePlus 7 devices’ journey to Android 11.
Recently, we’ve talked about some of the issues faced by users of the OnePlus 7 devices, including system lag, system crashes, and reboots, just to mention but a few.
Today, it is coming to light that these users are facing yet another issue with their devices, this one, seemingly having been brought about by a recent update.
Some users of the OnePlus 7 are reporting being unable to access the hide navigation bar option in gaming mode following the said recent update.
I’m facing issue with navigation bar, my OnePlus 7 was perfectly working with the feature (hide navigation bar) since this morning (23rd apr 21). as soon as I downloaded the system updates and updated it,this feature has gone,I wish this hide navigation bar feature come back as I’m really bad in using gestures and need to hide navigation bar for full screen display Please fix this issue Thankyou.

There used to be a pin on the navigation bar to either hide or show navigation bar. I do not want to use gestures for navigation but the navigation bar gets inconvenient sometimes while playing videos. It would be great to have that option back.

This has since been acknowledged for users of the OnePlus Nord and while seemingly unrelated, this could mean that we should see a fix for the OnePlus 7 as well sometime soon, or at least we hope.
Another issue being reported is a lot similar to one we’ve seen reported by users of another OnePlus device, the OnePlus Nord.
According to a section of OnePlus 7 users, the recent update caused issues with the device’s GPS, thereby rendering games like Pokemon Go, virtually unplayable as they’re heavily reliant on the GPS settings.
The latest version (April/May 2021) is a disaster! Hide navigation bar in gaming mode has disappeared! GPS has become wildly unstable when inside and connected to wifi (which previously was stable). Pokemon Go uses GPS… but now it’s either moving all over the place or “not found”. Google maps has the correct location but Pokemon Go is not consistent with Google maps!

This issue has been reportedly forwarded to the developers involved and if the OnePlus Nord case is anything to go by, these users should see some relief soon.
We’ve made a note of it and our developer team is currently working on this. We’ll keep you posted regarding any further updates.

We shall continue to keep an eye on these and many more issues and report back as and when we get more info so stay tuned.
Also, OnePlus 7 devices are in line for an update to Android 12-based OxygenoS 12 and you can learn more about this upcoming release in our continued coverage of the same.
