The Photo Mode in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla allows players to capture in-game images without the user interface blocking the view for some really immersive shots.

Once Photo Mode is enabled, one captures an image by pressing F3 on PC or the left and right sticks simultaneously on console.

But that’s not all, as the Photo Mode also lets a player to pan and move the camera around freely to find that perfect shot.

The mode also provides an array of editing options and presets so that one can customize a photo to their heart’s content.

However, the last bit is what has been acting as a cause of bother for Xbox players. There have been several complaints across various platforms saying that the Photo Mode on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is broken.

For some time now I haven’t been able to take pictures with photo mode since everytime I try to edit the photo pressind D pad, all the editing menus just disappear. I’ve been taking some unedited pics but just noticed that all of them have the loading logo and word “saving” in them… The game also saves the photos as screenshots which it didn’t do when the photo mode worked right.

I was hoping the last patch would fix photo mode, after doing a search on this sub reddit I cannot see anyone else that has had this issue recently. I love photo mode but every time I go down to change different settings (brightness, contrast ect) the whole ui including the bars to adjust the photo just disappear!? Is this a known bug?

As clear from the above complaints, editing photos through the Photo Mode results in the disappearance of all editing menus. The game also apparently now saves all photos as screenshots.

Moreover, this bug is a pretty longstanding one considering that complaints regarding it have been flowing in for the past 2 or 3 months.

If you are one of the users for whom the Photo Mode is broken on Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, then you can take a sigh of relief. The issue is a known one and is set to be fixed soon.

The update that is set to bring along a fix will be version 1.2.2. It is expected to be released sometime in June.

Unfortunately, there isn’t really a workaround available at the moment, so your best bet would be to wait for the promised bug-fixing update.
