Several users have reported recently that the Adobe Illustrator Draw and Adobe Photoshop Sketch iOS apps have begun crashing for them following a bad update. This update allegedly carries a version number of 4.9.6.
The crashes occur quite abruptly without any error messages as you can see in the video given below, and have rendered the apps virtually useless.
I have been using the Adobe Sketch app for some time and have all of my projects in their safe in the cloud. However, when I go into any of my projects and click on either an image or sketch layer to edit it, the whole app crashes.

@AdobeDrawing Adobe Draw auto-updated on my iPad and now every time I click a layer on my work it crashes the app. I’ve updated my iPad to the latest software, is there anything I can do to fix this? Is it an app or iPad problem? Any help appreciated…

The trigger behind the crash isn’t exactly clear as of now but it does seem to occur upon clicking on either an image or a sketch layer to edit.
Moreover, users have already followed the drill for issues like these – updating the app to the latest version, re-installing, and even signing out and then signing back in but to no avail.
The bug isn’t just limited to a single platform as both iPad and iPhone users have reported the Adobe Illustrator Draw and Adobe Photoshop Sketch crashing issue.
Nonetheless, if you are one of the users facing the bothersome problem, then you will be pleased to know that the Adobe Sketch/Draw team has already addressed it:
However, the bug-fixing update has only been uploaded to the Apple App Store and is still pending approval. It shouldn’t take much longer though.
Therefore, all you have to do now is wait. When the update does arrive, the App Store should update the Adobe apps automatically.
