Samsung Galaxy S20 FE overheating & battery drain issues to allegedly be fixed soon via an OTA update

The Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is easily one of the best smartphones the company has launched recently in terms of what you get for the price.

So much so that the company launched a 5G variant of the device with the Snapdragon 865 SoC in India and has even silently released a 4G Snapdragon 865-touting variant in Malaysia and Vietnam.

The S20 FE or Fan Edition offers top-of-the-line specs and features with only a few sacrifices compared to devices from the standard S20 series.

That said, the device has its fair share of bugs and issues. Matter of fact, soon after users got their hands on the device, many started noticing ghost touch issues as we reported a year ago.

While the company addressed the touchscreen issues, it is yet to fix the overheating issue that has been troubling users ever since the Galaxy S20 FE rocking the Exynos 990 released.

Since the device has been out for roughly a year, reports of the overheating issue with the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE keep popping up every now and then.

However, Samsung did not acknowledge the issue officially, meaning there hasn’t been a fix for it yet. But that might change very soon.

A user who claims to have submitted multiple logs to Samsung to help fix the overheating and battery drain issues shared a screenshot of an alleged response from Samsung support on the matter.

The response from Samsung support suggests that the developers have analyzed the logs and have isolated the root cause. Hence, the issue will supposedly be fixed via the next OTA update.

However, we’d suggest taking this information with a grain of salt as Samsung support hasn’t been entirely accurate or true in some cases in the past.

So only time will tell whether or not the overheating and battery drain issues will be fixed on the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.
