Sony leveled up the gaming experience for everyone with the launch of PlayStation 5 globally.

Enthusiasts couldn’t wait to get their hands on the new gaming console, after all, it was coming after a decade.

Call of Duty has been among the top picks of gamers and the experience of playing them on PS5 is a gripping experience.

But there’s a bug that has been eating up data and spoiling the gaming experience for the Call of Duty gamers on both PS4 and the new PS5.

The encountered issue is related to updating game packs and add-ons on PlayStations.

From what it looks like, the issue is throwing COD Modern Warfare, Cold War, and Warzone gamers into a loop where add-ons and game pack installation keep popping up over and over.

The package once installed shows it has successfully been installed but only to end up with the same prompt again after restarting the console.

This isn’t something that has appeared recently, gamers have been facing this for months now and it went on without Activision or Playstation taking note of it.

Finally, there’s some ray of hope for a quick fix as the PlayStation UK support has come forward to address the issue.

They have assured affected users that the issue is already known and they are awaiting a solution for this.

Thank you for trying and for getting back to us. I’m afraid this is all we can advise at this time, the relevant teams are aware of the issue and investigating on a solution.

There’s a troubleshooting step that can be tried as suggested by the support.

For that re-install the Campaign Pack and Campaign/Special Ops Compatibility Pack from the file management menu in-game by pressing the R3 button.

Another workaround, particularly for the COD (disc) games, is by uninstalling the game entirely along with all the packs and add-ons. Re-install using the PlayStation Store and it should work.

Don’t worry if the issue continues even after trying the basic troubleshooting steps, issues like these do get addressed pretty soon after coming to developers’ notice.

It still remains unclear whether Call of Duty is the only game affected by this. In any case, PlayStation developers will look into it.
