The Chrome OS 90 update started rolling out pretty recently to most Chrome OS running devices as version 90.0.4430.86.
However, recent reports suggest that the said update has not yet reached all eligible Chromebook models.
As per the CrOS Updates Serving page, the Chrome OS 90 update has not rolled out to several Chromebook models.
These include Chromebooks and other Chrome OS running devices by Samsung, HP, Acer, ASUS, Dell, Lenovo, and AOpen.
While the actual reason behind the delay in the Chrome OS 90 rollout is unclear, there might still be an explanation.
It is possible that the expected Android 11 upgrade for over 100 Chromebook models could be delaying the release of Chrome OS 90 for some units.
According to Chrome Unboxed, the devices that have not yet received the latest Chrome OS update may get it along with Android 11.
This, however, is still based on speculation as no official explanation has been provided for the said delay.
Also, a Reddit user has said that their Pixelbook has received the Chrome OS 90 update but it is still based on Android 9.
So, if your Chromebook has bagged the latest Chrome OS update, feel free to drop a comment below and let us know whether it is based on Android 11 or not.
Hopefully, the Chrome OS 90 update starts rolling out to the remaining devices soon as users are quite eager to get it.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
