New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 26, 2021) follows:
Having been launched with Android 9 out-of-the-box, Realme X2 was slated to receive its second major OS update of Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 this year.
The company did kick off the Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) rollout back in January this year but it only remained limited to the early responders.
During the ongoing early access program, Realme X2 bagged multiple Android 11 beta updates.
It may have been a good journey for the signed-up users but it is certainly a not-so-pleasant one for the ones who missed out on the opportunity to enroll.
But now, the company has begun to show some good signs regarding the stable Android 11 update for the Realme X2.
The Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) Open Beta and Public Test with version F.18 is finally live for the Realme X2 in both India and China.
Indian device owners are required to first upgrade to version RMX1992EX_11.C.17 / RMX1992AEX_11.C.17 and then proceed to apply for the Open Beta program.
The new update invites a big chunk of device owners but isn’t entirely stable. The official (stable) version will roll out once the company has the confidence that this version stands up to the mark.
The announcement post also mentions that it is the latest Open Beta version that will be chosen as the stable version.
The latest Open Beta version will be chosen as the stable version and rolled out to all users, there is no difference if you have already joined the Open Beta program.
Realme follows a planner according to which it should take 12 weeks for devices to receive the stable update but looks like the company isn’t quite strict when it comes to following it.
But anyway, the Open Beta and Public Test updates have finally landed and we expect Realme to release the stable update very soon.
Update 1 (May 14, 2021)
