Samsung has been on its heels with software updates this year. The company has rolled out Android 11 with One UI 3.0 or One UI 3.1 to most eligible phones and would likely release One UI 3.5 in the following months.

Last month, Samsung and Verizon sent out the One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 models carrying the March security patch.

The new skin brought along a bunch of new features and improvements such as the Eye comfort shield, video call enhancements, and more.

But it seems Samsung isn’t done yet. The company recently started sending out the April update for the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 models but the changelog hadn’t made an appearance in public.

However, that’s no longer the case since the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ from Verizon have also picked up the April update and the carrier has even shared the changelog for it.

The update bears the firmware version number N97xUSQU6FUCD. Apart from the obvious April security patch, the update also brings 3 new camera features to the device.

For starters, it has finally added support for the Ultra-Wide lens in the Pro mode of the Camera app. The feature was highly requested by users since the very beginning.

Secondly, it brings new effects for the Portrait mode. Users can now select the High-Key Mono, Low-Key Mono, and Backdrop effects when clicking images in the Portrait mode of the Camera app.

Last but not the least, the update adds the Auto Night Mode function to the Photo, Portrait, and Hyperlapse camera modes. This means the phone will automatically detect low light conditions and will enable Night Mode to offer the best possible results when capturing images.

Here’s the changelog shared by Verizon for the Note 10 and Note 10+:

Pro Mode – Ultra Wide

– Ultra wide lens is now available in Pro and Pro Video camera modes.

Portrait – Mono/Backdrop Effects

– Change the background for portrait shots using the new High-Key Mono, Low-Key Mono, and Backdrop effects.

Auto Night Mode

– Photo, Portrait, and Hyperlapse camera modes now automatically detect low light conditions and turn on Night mode for optimal quality.

Now that the April update has rolled out to Samsung Galaxy Note 10 models from Verizon, it’s likely that the S10 models will get it shortly too.

12:45 pm (IST): Verizon and Samsung have now rolled out the April update for the Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10+ models too.

The official changelog suggests that the update brings support for the Ultra Wide lens in the Pro mode and also enables Auto Night mode.

However, there’s no mention of the portrait mode mono and backdrop effects.

11:25 pm (IST): The April patch along with its new camera-centric features is now rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G, Note 20 Ultra 5G, S10 5G, S20 5G, S20+ 5G, S20 Ultra 5G, and the Z Fold2 5G models from Verizon.
