New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on April 19, 2021) follows:
Along with other major brands in the market, Vivo has also been fostering the Android 11-based Funtouch OS.
It’s just recent when the Vivo Y11 and a couple of other devices bagged the Funtouch OS 11 (Android 11) update and the streak continues.
This month has already seen devices getting upgraded to Android 11 and the company has plans to add one more device to the list by the end of the month.
Well, it is the Vivo S1 Pro that was initially planned to receive the Android 11 update by April end, as per Vivo’s customer support.
But it appears that Vivo wrapped up the Android 11 development well before its deadline and has even begun rolling it out for a few Vivo S1 Pro users.
Upon receiving the hefty 3.79 GB update, a few users shared their excitement about the good news on social media platforms.
However, the Funtouch OS version is yet to be confirmed as nothing has explicitly been mentioned on the version number which is vivo rev 8.12.6.
The update is likely to be Funtouch OS 11, things will get more clear when more user reports start to emerge.
But anyway, it’s Android 11 which we hope would pack all the features that are meant to come along with the big update.
The Android 11 update for this device is confirmed to be in greyscale testing and therefore, even though the update has commenced, it is likely to stay limited to a few users.
The stable update will roll out at a later date, so the waiting time for the masses is actually longer.
In the meantime, we have a dedicated Vivo Android 11 update tracker that reflects every latest information related to your Vivo devices.
Thanks for the tip, Norman Andres!
