The temporary ban on the apps came into effect at 11 am and is scheduled to be in place till 3 pm in the country.

As a result, many confused citizens have been wondering why WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Telegram are down in Pakistan.

WhatsApp and other social media apps had to go down in Pakistan to maintain public order and safety amid protests by a religious party that led to chaos and the killing of three people, including two policemen.

If the instructions are to be followed to the dot, the apps should start working in a couple of hours.
