AT&T’s subsidiary, DirecTV, is one of the most popular direct broadcast satellite services in the United States.
While DirecTV offers features like TV recording and more, subscribers have been finding it difficult to enjoy their recorded content.
According to recent reports from Twitter and AT&T forums, the rewind and fast forward functionality is not working for recorded programs on multiple DirecTV receivers.
While it is unclear what is causing this problem, it seems that the issue might be widespread.
However, the service provider has not yet acknowledged the issue which has further added to users’ disappointment.
The rewind and fast forward not working issue is also present on the DirecTV live TV services, as per the AT&T forum thread.
Moreover, considering the number of reports on the issue, it appears that a wider addressing might be required.
Nevertheless, nothing is confirmed until DirecTV or AT&T make an official announcement regarding the problem.
Hughes Electronics started DirecTV in June 1994 with 320,000 subscribers. It later became a standalone entity in February 2004 with 13 million subscribers.
DirecTV was acquired by AT&T way back in July 2015 after getting approvals from the United States Department of Justice and United States Federal Communications Commission.
With millions of people still availing DirecTV services, such issues should be handled with utmost importance.
Hopefully, AT&T or DirecTV provide a fix for the issue soon as users are unable to enjoy their favorite content.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
