After leaving multiple devices hanging for months in the Android 11 beta program, Realme users have started seeking answers from the company.
Although the company managed to stick to its initial plans and it might seem at first that everything’s going great, it is only a limited set of people who have benefitted from it.
The company has rolled out what it calls an Early Access program followed by a few beta updates, which sometimes get confusing.
A lot of Realme devices are already on Android 11 beta, waiting for the stable update to hit, while a few have recently started to bag the stable Android 11 update in China.
But we now finally have something that clears much of the confusion that has developed lately.
In one of Realme’s routine FAQs, the company has laid down a structured and systematic roadmap that it follows while delivering the Android 11 update.
Q. I did not enroll in the Android 11 open beta for my device, and now I have been waiting for the stable release to be made available for a month already. How long do the betas take on average?
A. The early access lasts approximately 4 x weeks, during which the developers tackle all reported bugs that seriously affect daily use. The following open beta can last up to 12 x weeks, the reason being that the developers will address all remaining bugs prior to releasing the official stable release. If you would rather experience realme UI 2.0 earlier, you can consider entering the open beta where most serious bugs have already been fixed.
That basically implies that it approximately takes 4 months of beta before stable release for any device.
This, however, is a general trend the company tries to follow which may not be 100% accurate. Like in the case of Realme 7 Pro.
The device bagged its first beta back in November and is now well past the 4-month period and still has no signs of the stable Android 11 update.
But going by this, it shows good signs for the rest of the devices as a majority of them that got the update early are now nearing the beta program completion.
This month and the next might witness a lot of devices bagging the stable Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) update. So stay tuned to our dedicated Android 11 tracker.
