Several users are having trouble using Google Maps due to the apparent dysfunction of a pretty important feature on its app. The search function is reportedly broken for some on Android.
Users have stated that searching up any location now throws a “No results found” error. This has essentially rendered the app useless for some users as they are unable to look up locations for navigation.
I don’t know why all of sudden I couldn’t search any keywords in Google maps, it always shows “no results found on Google maps”. I tried to sign out of Google, then Google maps shows results while not signed in. As soon as I am signed in, then the Google maps always shows “no results found on Google maps”. I tried clearing cache, uninstalling & reinstalling all google apps, deleting all my google map history, nothing helps.

@googlemaps when I search for a general location like chase bank I get a message saying “no results found on google maps” any idea why? It’ll work if I switch account or go to “incognito mode” I’m on iPhone 12 and there’s no updates on the app.

Users [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] have already tried all the basic stuff like clearing app cache, uninstalling updates, and reinstalling the app, all to no positive result.
Judging by reports, the issue is quite fresh and has seemingly started just a couple of days back. Not all users are affected though as some reported no issues on their end.
Moreover, some iOS users are affected as well although the complaints from that party are far fewer in number.
If you are one of the users facing this issue, then there’s one thing that you should know. The bug is only affecting select accounts currently as many have stated that it disappears when switching to another account.
Several users have also observed that using Google Maps whilst signed out also serves well as an interim solution. Additionally, you can also try logging out of your Google account and then logging back in.
Nonetheless, the issue seems to be a server-side glitch and should be fixed soon without the need for any user intervention. This is pretty clear from the fact that neither the iOS nor the Android Google Maps apps have received any recent updates.
As always, we will continue to track the issue and update this article as and when we come across any new workarounds or development. Stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for now.
