Xiaomi has been testing MIUI 12.5 update since late 2020. The trials were limited to the Chinese market, with several devices getting upgraded to Android 11 while at it.

We have since seen several of these devices get upgraded to stable versions of Android 11 with the older MIUI 12 still running the show on top.

We have also seen Xiaomi come up with both an official MIUI 12.5 update roadmap for both the Chinese and the global markets.

In the roadmaps, the company did confirm that the stable MIUI 12.5 update will begin rolling out in China somewhere in early April, with the Mi 10 series tipped to lead the way.

Well, the day has finally arrived, albeit a little earlier than anticipated, which is exactly what many fans have been looking forward to.

According to reports from China, the stable MIUI 12.5 update is now live for the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra handset. The airborne update is arriving as version 12.5.1.0.RJJCNXM.

As expected, the firmware is based on Android 11, with an update to Android 12 still in line alongside MIUI 13.

Now that the stable MIUI 12.5 update is live for the Mi 10 Ultra in China, we expect to see the same released for other Mi 10 variants in the region.

Once Xiaomi establishes that the firmware is fit for day-to-day use, there will be a wider rollout to other parts of the globe and on more Xiaomi handsets.

It’s worth noting that the Mi 10 Ultra is limited to the Chinese market, so we expect Xiaomi to wind up the rollout process pretty fast.

For those who wish to take the manual route, we also have a link to download the firmware and install manually, but being an early release, you may encounter some difficulties. Feel free to consult here.
