New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…

Original story (published on March 29, 2021) follows:

Vivo V11 (Globally), Vivo V21s (China), and Vivo V11 Pro (India) arrived way back in 2018 with Android 8.1 out-of-the-box.

Vivo V11 Pro justifies the price tag that it carried by bringing along an impressive specs-sheet for the users.

This device was also lucky enough to bag 2 major updates up to Android 10 (Funtouch OS 10) and has almost lived its complete life.

Vivo does not enjoy much praise in the software updates domain and devices usually have to compromise on updates.

But it seems that Vivo has more to offer than just 2 major OS updates to this device.

It’s time for Vivo V11 (or V11 Pro) to celebrate as the company has kept one more major OS update in its bag.

Vivo support has allegedly said that Vivo V11 is compatible with Android 11 (Funtouch OS 11) even when the company didn’t officially put it on the Android 11 eligible devices’ list.

However, the support didn’t give out any information on the update timeline so it remains a mystery.

It comes as a surprising revelation which hints that the company may even consider updating its software update policy just like Samsung has recently done it.

If this turns out to be true and Vivo V11 indeed gets its third major OS update to Android 11 then there are high chances for Vivo users to have a bag full of good news coming their way.

The update may anyway take its sweet time to arrive as there lie multiple other devices awaiting their slot. Vivo will prioritize the ones on the official roadmap first.

Update 1 (August 16)

Support now says that they have no plans to update Vivo V11 Pro to Funtouch OS 11, thus taking a U-turn on their previous statement.
