[Updated: Apr 05] OnePlus Nord users facing slow charging issue after OxygenOS 11.1.1.1 (Android 11) update

OnePlus really did drop the ball with the rollout of its Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 to eligible devices. The updates that were expected to come soon after Android 11’s September 2020 release are just now rolling out.

Recently, we’ve seen the rollout of the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro’s Android 11-based OxygenOS 11, months after it was initially expected. Nord users were also treated to a stable release at the beginning of this month.

However, that update was quickly pulled due to bugs and issues, only to be re-released as OxygenOS 11.1.1.1. With this re-release, users hoped that OnePlus had finally taken care of all the issues.

Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case as OnePlus Nord users are still facing pretty serious issues with their devices, even after this OxygenOS 11.1.1.1 update.

It is now coming to light that the OnePlus Nord running Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 is a little slower at taking up charge than it was on OxygenOS 10 (1,2,3,4).

After updating, I am facing slow charging issues. It takes more time for full recharge.

More reports (1,2,3,4,5,6) of slow charging OnePlus Nord devices after the update to Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 keep coming in and for now, the only solution seems to be turning off the device.

I am also facing slowness in charging. If I turn off the phone and charge it will charge quickly.

As it turns out, these affected devices are still able to warp charge when they’re turned off and this squarely puts the fault on the OxygenOS 11 update.

OnePlus has really been struggling with this rollout of OxygenOS 11 and we have been keeping tabs of all the bugs and issues reported by users and their current status. You can check out our dedicated tracker for more on that.

This ‘No Warp charge’ issue joins that ever-growing list of bugs and issues faced by OxygenOS 11 users on OnePlus devices and we can only hope for a bug-fix soon to alleviate the suffering of these users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

IST 12:02 pm: Users of the OnePlus Nord are still facing the slow charging issue even after the recent OxygenOS 11.1.1.2 update to their devices (1,2,3,4,5,6,7).

IST 13:01 pm: OnePlus has finally acknowledged this issue, stating that the developers are working on it.
