Samsung has released the One UI 3.0 or 3.1 updates based on Android 11 for a bunch of smartphones from its portfolio including several mid-rangers and “budget-friendly” models such as the Galaxy A50 and Galaxy M21.
Now it appears that the company has begun rolling out the new One UI 3.1 skin with Android 11 for the Samsung Galaxy A40 as well.
According to information on SamMobile’s database, the company has released the update for the Galaxy A40 units in Europe. More specifically, for units sold by Vodafone in Germany.
It carries the firmware version number A405FNXXU3CUC2 and brings along the March 2021 security patch to the device.
We’re yet to get our hands on any reports from users from the region which suggests that rollout is still underway.
Samsung has not updated its official page for this particular Galaxy A40 model sold by Vodafone in Germany with details regarding the update to Android 11 or One UI 3.1, yet.
You can expect to see most of the new features and improvements that come with One UI 3.1 since the update isn’t the One UI Core 3.1 update that has been released for the M-series models.
Apart from that, One UI 3.1 has also been released for the Samsung Galaxy A80 in France, where the update is rolling out with the firmware version number A805FXXU5DUC7 as per a fresh report.
We can expect to see the update for the two smartphones go live in other regions in the following days and weeks.
Android 11 will, unfortunately, be the last major Android update the Galaxy A40 and A80 get since it’s the second and final update for the two models.
