Telegram was reportedly working on a Clubhouse-like voice chat feature for its channels.
This was officially confirmed pretty recently when beta users received invites to test the upcoming feature.
Now, Telegram has released a new update with Voice Chat 2.0 for all Android and iOS users with a bunch of new features.
The latest update with Voice Chats 2.0 offers unlimited participants, listeners and speakers invite links, recordable voice chats, and raise hand mechanics.
Apart from this, public figures can now join voice chats as their respective Telegram channels.
In order to start a voice chat, group admins have to go the group Menu (three dots on the top right) and select the Start Voice Chat option.
Once done, admins can record these voice chats and later publish them so that those who missed a talk can listen to it at a later point.
Also, group admins can allow muted participants to speak when they receive a Raise Hand request.
Moreover, public group admin can generate and send speaker and listener links which will make voice chat open for the former.
The latest update also brings improvements to message forwarding as users can now select a different chat or cancel forwarding in case of mistakes.
Furthermore, Android users can now assign actions like mute, delete, pin, mark as read/unread, or archive chat to the swipe left gesture in the chat list.
All in all, this serves as a major update for Telegram as users can now interact with each other more easily yet efficiently.
That said, we will be back with more such stories once new information becomes available so stay tuned.
