One of the most promoted features of MIUI 11 was the unique dynamic sound effects that could be played depending on the time and mood of the day. For example, the system would automatically switch ringtones during sunrise and sunset.
Ringtones can get pretty irritating at times due to which people often prefer to keep their phones muted. But MIUI’s dynamic ringtones promised to make ringtones great again by composing them in a manner such that they induced a soothing effect.
And of course, if ringtones are meant to be therapeutic then the sounds of nature would serve the best for the purpose. Keeping this in mind, MIUI 12.5 ups the level further by adding a bunch of animal-inspired ringtones and notification sounds.
Xiaomi sure does take their user interface seriously too as these ringtones are stowed away in beautifully designed menus intended to make even the simple act of ringtone-switching a very visual and enjoyable experience.
Nonetheless, these goodies are all restricted to MIUI 12.5 alone since they’re an OS feature really. But if you are one of the users that can’t wait to try them out, then fret not, for we sure have some good news.
Xiaomi has updated the MIUI Themes app with some cool new features and one of them includes the enablement of a Ringtones section for global users. This was previously limited to regions like India.
Additionally, the new nature-inspired sounds from MIUI 12.5 have now been made available for all to enjoy everyone. These will be accessible from the new Ringtones section of course.
[Changelog]
1. Added a section with melodies (now you don’t need to change the region to India).
2. New sounds from MIUI 12.5 are now available to everyone.
3. Optimization of application performance and bug fixes.

Now, MIUI 12.5 may be just around the corner for select eligible phones, but why wait for that long when you can try some of its exclusive features now itself? Heck, several devices have even been scheduled to bag a stable MIUI 12.5 sometime in Q3 2021. Now that’s pretty far off.
Additionally, many devices will be permanently stuck on MIUI 12 as their software support life has come to an end before they could taste MIUI 12.5. Therefore, you might want to just install the new MIUI Themes app to give the aforementioned features a spin.
