New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 15, 2021) follows:

Android 11 has been out for several months now and many of the top Android OEMs are now deep in their rollout phases.

This roll out has resulted in a few unexpected ‘heroes’ and unexpected flops and relatively unassuming OEMs like Oppo have shone with titans in the update scene like OnePlus seemingly dropping the ball.

Oppo, despite having one of the most extensive device catalogues of any OEM, has done a pretty decent job when it comes to rolling out these Android 11-based ColorOS 11 updates to eligible devices.

Not too long ago, we saw the company come out to release its update plan for the month of March 2021. In it, Oppo outlined dates for when Beta and Stable builds were set to rollout.

True to the company’s word, we have seen devices such as the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom, the Reno2 F and the Oppo F15 among many others indeed getting updated.

Today, the company is looking to bring a taste of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 to the Oppo Reno2 Z with the release of the Beta build.

Hello, Super Fans! The first batch of Reno2 Z ColorOS 11 Beta Version based on Android 11 kicks off in India. If you want to try the Beta version, please submit your application.

Important to note is that, this Beta program is currently only available for users in India, and not everyone for that matter as interested users need to opt-in.

Interested users have a three-day window from March 15 to March 18 to register their interest and apply for a slot in the first batch of Beta testers.

So how do you secure a slot for your Oppo Reno2 Z in this Android 11-based ColorOS 11 Beta program in India? Well, follow these simple steps.

1. Confirm your phone has updated to the version (Detectable Version): C.45/C.47

2. Click ‘Settings’>> ‘Software Update’>> Click the settings icon on the screen>> Apply for Beta Version>>Update Beta Version. And then follow the guide to apply. (If the application quota is full, please wait for the next round

Initial reports from Oppo indicated that the Oppo Reno2 Z would get the beta update in India starting on March 17.

It is refreshing to see a company set timelines and actually meet them, give or take a few days. This cannot be said about some other company‘s rollout of its Android 11-based custom skin.

We can only hope to see more OEMs borrow a leaf from Oppo moving foward. We shall continue to keep an eye on this and update as and when we get more info so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
