[Re-released] OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) rollout for OnePlus Nord paused but will continue after some bug fixes, confirms staff member

OnePlus’ rollout of OxygenOS 11 to its eligible devices has been a little less than graceful, to say the least. Since the rollout to OnePlus 8 devices back in October 2020, it wasn’t until March 1 when we saw the next device get updated.

What was the company doing during this period? Well, fixing bugs that arose from the OxygenOS 11 update to these OnePlus 8 devices and testing out builds to the other devices, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus Nord.

Unfortunately, it seems like the company just won’t catch a break. See, a few days following the rollout of the stable Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 to the OnePlus Nord, we saw reports that users were facing issues with delayed notifications among other bugs.

We advised users of the OnePlus Nord to hold off from installing this update but even then, a section of the user reports from owners of the Nord indicate that they were suddenly unable to install the new update on their devices.

Yesterday I received notification update but I didn’t download package.but today I am unable to see the updates. what is the issues?

Now, reports coming in suggest that OnePlus has decided to pull the plug on this rollout in a bid to damage-control. This news of the paused OnePlus Nord OxygenOS 11 update comes from a staff member’s response to one of the user complaints on the availability of the Android 11-OxygenOS 11 stable update for their devices.

We’ve noticed that many of you have queries about the availability of Nord’s Android 11 update.

The update has been temporarily paused to ensure a smooth user experience, due to some bugs that have been detected. We are now trying our best to investigate and will release an updated build ASAP in the near future. Users who have installed the previous version can get the issues fixed through the later version updates. Thank you very much for your patience.

With this new development of the paused rollout of OxygenOS 11 to OnePlus Nord, the wait for the stable release of OxygenOS 11 for users of the OnePlus Nord that hadn’t grabbed it for themselves continues.

At the time of writing, it is still unclear when exactly OnePlus plans to re-release this paused update to the affected devices or when a bug-fix update could be issued.
