Oppo has one of the most extensive device catalogs of any Android OEMs we have today, probably only losing out to fellow Chinese OEM, Xiaomi.
While this ensures that the company almost always has a product for any type of user in the market, it also brings with it a logistical challenge for the company in terms of updates and maintenance.
Be that as it may, Oppo seems to be hanging in there and we have seen some decent progress from the company in terms of the rollout of its Android 11-based ColorOS 11 to eligible devices.
Recently, we saw the company come out to announce its Android 11 roadmap for the month of March 2021. This highlighted how the company is looking to push out various developmental and stable builds of ColorOS 11 to its devices.
In the roadmap, the company planned to roll out the stable build of ColorOS to a number of its devices including the Oppo Reno2 F and the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom between March 9 and March 17 in India and associated regions.
True to the company’s word, we saw the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom bag the stable build of Android 11-based ColorOS 11 on the expected date, March 9.
Today, Oppo is once again breaking the mold on ColorOS 11 for yet another one of its devices, this time the Oppo Reno2 F.
Dear ColorOS Superfans,
The long-awaited Official version of Reno2 F ColorOS 11 based on Android 11 Official Version finally kicks off. So hurry up & don’t miss it.
This initial rollout which is more like a soak test will start with users of the Reno2 F in India before being rolled out to other regions in due course. For these Indian users, you need to be running the latest detectable version, C.19, to get the new Android 11 update.
Also worth noting is that, you might have to go to settings to opt-in and update your Reno2 F to Android 11-based ColorOS 11, at least for now.
To do this, simply follow the following steps.
1) Click [Settings] – [Software Updates]
2) Click [Settings] – [Official Version Application] -tick[I agree]-Apply now
3) Click to check new version-Download-Install
4) Upgrade success
As mentioned, this rollout is more like a stable beta release and users need to opt-in to receive the update. March 16 remains the official release date for this Android 11 update for the Reno2 F as earlier announced.
