It seems Samsung is rolling out Android 11 for a new smartphone every other day. The latest to bag the update is the Samsung Galaxy M31s model that’s sold in India.
The device launched with Android 10 pre-installed alongside the company’s One UI 2.5 skin last year.
And recent reports (1, 2) indicated that Samsung began rolling out the One UI 3.0 update for the Galaxy M31s in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Morrocco.
Like most Android updates, Samsung is rolling out Android 11 for the Galaxy M31s in batches. This means that the availability of the update depends on various factors including your region and possibly the carrier too.
As we mentioned above, Samsung Galaxy M31s users in India have now begun receiving the update on their devices, however, it carries the One UI Core 3.1 skin instead of One UI Core 3.0.
The update bears the software version number M317FXXU2CUB1 and weighs 1932.15 MB. The February 2021 security patch is also present and accounted for.
Since the Galaxy M31s is a budget-friendly device, it does not get all the features that Samsung introduced with the One UI 3.1 update such as the Object eraser tool and Multi Mic Recording.
That said, the OEM is yet to update its official software update page for the Indian model of the device to reflect the release of One UI 3.1 or Android 11.
Now that Samsung has released One UI 3.1 for the Galaxy M31s in India too, it’s likely that we’ll see the update begin rolling out in other regions over the next few days.
So stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know when the One UI 3.1 update goes live for the Samsung Galaxy M31s in other regions or for any other eligible smartphone for that matter.
