Sony Xperia 5 II Android 11 update released in the U.S.

Sony started rolling out Android 11 for the Xperia 1 II back in December which made it the first device from the Japan-based Android vendor to get the new Android version.

Cut to now, the company has rolled out Android 11 to all eligible devices from its portfolio, however, the update is yet to go live in some regions.

Most recently, Sony began seeding Android 11 for the Xperia 1 II in the U.S. and it now seems that the company has started rolling out the update for the Xperia 5 II in the country as well.

This new package carries the software version 58.1.A.3.87 and is rolling out to users with the February 2021 security patch thrown in for good measure.

The update details were captured on the XperiCheck database and a Redditor has also confirmed receiving the same on their device in the U.S.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get our hands on a screenshot of the update information page since it has only begun rolling out a few hours ago.

If you haven’t yet got the update on your Sony Xperia 5 II in the U.S., don’t fret, it may take a couple of hours or even days for the update to arrive on your unit.

Android 11 brings a bunch of new features and improvements to the device. Moreover, you can now even remap the Assistant button with your device on the new Android version.

Now that Sony has released Android 11 for the Xperia 5 II in the U.S., it’s likely that the update will go live in the remaining regions sooner rather than later.
