[Update: Released] Samsung Galaxy A71 One UI 3.1 (Android 11) update to go live on March 16 in Canada; Huawei Mate 20 Pro EMUI 11 on March 17

In February, Samsung announced that it will be sending out the One UI 3.1 update to a bunch of smartphones ranging from flagships to budget-friendly alternatives.

And over the past few weeks, we’ve seen the update begin rolling out for a bunch of devices such as the Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 also recently picked up the update to One UI 3.1 based on Android 11, however, the update was released in only a couple of countries.

Now, thanks to Rogers Communications, we know that Samsung will be rolling out the Android 11 update for the Samsung Galaxy A71 in Canada on March 16.

The smartphone carrier listed the information on its OS upgrade schedule that was updated on March 06.

FYI, Samsung skipped the One UI 3.0 update and instead opted to release One UI 3.1 based on Android 11 directly for the Samsung Galaxy A71.

That said, the latest schedule from Rogers even mentions that the Huawei Mate 20 Pro will get the EMUI 11 update on March 17.

The Chinese OEM is knee-deep in controversies and has been under fire from the media for basically using Android as its base for HarmonyOS.

Nevertheless, while the company is gearing up to bring its “in-house OS” to many existing models, it also recently started sending out the EMUI 11 update based on Android 10 to a bunch of devices, including the Mate 20 Pro, outside of China.

EMUI 11 carries a truck-load of new features and improvements over EMUI 10, and according to Rogers’ OS upgrade schedule, it seems that Huawei Mate 20 Pro users in Canada won’t have to wait much longer to get their hands on the new skin.

06:10 pm (IST): Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 3.1 update based on Android 11 for the Samsung Galaxy A71 in Canada. The update has been captured on SamFrew’s database with the firmware version A715WVLU2CUB5.
