New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 26, 2021) follows:

The LG V60 ThinQ 5G has been ahead in the line of smartphones from the OEM to receive the Android 11 update due to its flagship status.

Last month, we had reported that LG released the Android 11 kernel source for various models of the device and thus indicating that the stable update may go live soon.

Further, we came across an alleged screenshot of a conversation between an individual and T-Mobile support wherein it appeared that LG would begin seeding Android 11 for the LG V60 ThinQ 5G on January 22.

Of course, that did not turn out to be the case since no one with the T-Mobile variant of the device got the said software update. But that has changed.

Some users have taken to Twitter (1, 2, 3) claiming that they have received the Android 11 update on their LG V60 ThinQ 5G units from T-Mobile in the U.S.

The update is rolling out with the software version V600TM20f and weighs 2.21 GB. Here’s a screenshot of the ‘About phone’ section after installing the latest update:

As expected, the update brings a bunch of new features that we’ve come to expect from Android 11 as well as a new desktop mode — similar to Samsung Dex.

Now that LG has released Android 11 for the T-Mobile variants of the LG V60 ThinQ in the U.S., it’s likely that Verizon and AT&T models will also get the new Android version soon.

Furthermore, we can expect to see the update begin rolling out globally within the next few days or weeks depending on the situation.

Having said that, LG has not yet shared any details regarding the availability of Android 11 for other devices from its portfolio.

So stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to be the first to know when LG begins rolling out the new Android version for any device.
