New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 24, 2021) follows:
OnePlus prides itself in being one of the most community-oriented OEMs in the Android ecosystem. This, because of just how much the company engages with its users by listening to and addressing their concerns.
In line with that, we see the company regularly publishing a list of the most asked questions and answering them in a monthly publication on the community forum.
We are coming to the end of February and Android 11 for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series of devices is the hottest topic in the OnePlus community and naturally, it featured prominently in the latest edition of this series.
Before we dive in, it’d please you to know that we’ve been consolidating all OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T Android 11 update stories and you can check out our tracker for the same here.

Also note that these are primarily based on the company’s China-only ROM — HydrogenOS — which is closely related to the OxygenOS the rest of the world is used to.

Q: In the file management application, why can’t I view the pictures or files of some OnePlus and third-party applications?
A: Please be assured that the relevant data is still stored in the mobile phone. This situation is because the Google team has hidden the Android/data and Android/obb folders for optimizing the privacy policy, so some files in the file management application cannot be viewed.
If you need to check relevant information for refueling, it is recommended to try to find it in the app. At the same time, you can also feedback this question to the third-party application terminal or the OnePlus community bug feedback area, and we will actively promote the three parties to make relevant adaptations.

Some of the important takeaways from this sessions is that, many of the issues bugging users of the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8T devices such as device not ringing when the alarm is set have been fixed and bug-fix updates are rolling out.
Also worth noting is that the user-suggested feature to allow for a “time watermark” function to the camera has been approved and developed and should be rolling out soon.
Perhaps the giant asterisk that’s hovering over this FAQ session is that all these only apply to the Chinese variants of these devices for now. Knowing OnePlus, chances are that these will trickle down to the global ROM at some point.
With regards to which features will make their way to OxygenOS devices and when, we don’t know at this point in time. However, we shall continue to keep an eye out and update as and when we get new info so stay tuned.
