Smooth animation on gesture pill
Xiaomi’s MIUI 12.5 is perhaps one of the most actively developed software skins in the Android world. The skin was unveiled to the world during the Chinese launch of Mi 11 back in December last year.
Following this, there was also a global release on February 8, but by then most people were already acquainted with what the new software brings on the table.
Xiaomi had also laid out a roadmap with the very first devices set to receive the update sometime in early Q2 2021. This list includes the Mi 10T, Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and of course, the Mi 11.
For the uninitiated, MIUI 12.5 promises to improve system performance by around 25% and bring along several goodies like new Super Wallpapers, a bunch of UI tweaks, haptics enhancements, privacy improvements, and much more.
The update is speculated to be a bridge between MIUI 12 and MIUI 13 just like its decimal pointed name implies.
Nonetheless, as many may already be aware, MIUI 12.5 development was paused due to the Chinese New Year holidays. And just as expected, the update process has resumed once more after two weeks, now that February 22 is finally here.
It is worth mentioning here that MIUI 12 stable releases had started a few days ago already on February 18. However, the break was a bit lengthier for the beta builds.
Anyway, the resumption has commenced with a new MIUI 12.5 beta release that carries version number of 21.2.19. And if you haven’t guessed already, the numbering is based on the date of the build.
The changelog for MIUI 12.5 beta 21.2.19 has been given below:
[System]
Update Google security patch (2021#3) to improve system security
Adapted model: Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 9 4G
Not exactly a major update considering that it only brings about a security patch and not a dump load of fresh features we have grown so accustomed to with almost every new beta.
There is, however, some minor improvement with regards to gesture pill animation, as shown below.
Nevertheless, we can all be certain of many new exciting feature additions with almost every new release at least until the stable rollout commences. For now, be sure to keep an eye on our dedicated MIUI 12.5 update tracker.
Note: If you wish to download the beta build for your device, then you would want to check this out. Keep in mind though that these builds are all targeted for China and you may hence bump into installation errors.
