Realme, like most other OEMs, is currently working on getting the Android 11 update to all its eligible devices. At the time of writing, the stable update is only available for the Realme X50 Pro and X50 Pro Player Edition.
A few other smartphones such as the Realme X2 Pro, Realme 7 Pro, Realme 6, and Realme Narzo 20 have also bagged the Realme UI 2.0 update via the Early Access and Open Beta programs.
The Early Access program is a win-win for users and Realme since it can collect user feedback regarding the update and iron out any kinks along the way before seeding the update to the masses.
That said, the company had shared the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access timeline last year wherein it had listed all the devices that are eligible for the beta program.

At first, it was assumed that the list of devices mentioned in the Early Access timeline is only for the first batch of devices that are scheduled to Realme UI 2.0 since devices such as the Realme 5 and Realme 5s were not included.
Moreover, an alleged screenshot of a user’s conversation with Realme support suggested that the company is also working on the Realme UI 2.0 update for the Realme 5.
However, in the latest Realme Community FAQ session, Realme has finally shed some light on the situation and it’s not good news.
Q. Are devices which are not shown in the realme UI 2.0 roadmap – like realme 5 and 5s be eligible to receive realme UI 2.0 / Android 11?
A. No, devices missing from the roadmap (and that had already been launched when this was shared) will not be receiving realme UI 2.0. They will keep on receiving updates up until the end of their maintenance cycle – but these will be based on Android 10 and for realme UI 1.0.
According to Realme, the Realme 5 and Realme 5s will not get the Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 update and neither will the company release the update to any other device that’s not mentioned in the Early Access roadmap, excluding the newly launched phones.
The news is slightly disappointing since the Realme 5, 5s, and even the Realme 3 came with Android 9 Pie pre-installed and should have been eligible for at least 2 major OS updates.
Having said that, we’re glad the company has confirmed the same rather than leaving users in the dark.
