The MIUI 12.5 update was launched globally following an announcement event on February 8. The update brings a range of features like App Vault enhancements, Notes app updates, interface changes, and more.

That’s not all though as there are also plenty of under-the-hood changes that purportedly result in improved performance.

Xiaomi claims that MIUI 12.5 reduces CPU usage by 22% and cuts power consumption by 15% which is pretty significant. However, let’s not get ahead of ourselves as the real world figures may vary.

Lastly, the company has also emphasized that gestures should be smoother than ever before thanks to ‘prioritized gesture rendering’ that creates a dedicated thread to render gestures.

We previously covered a story containing a video demonstration of some major MIUI 12.5 changes like revamped haptics and more which you can check out through this link.

Anyway, there was a lot of speculation doing rounds with regards to the MIUI 12.5 update for the Poco F1 or Pocophone F1 in global markets. A Xiaomi executive had recently stated that they weren’t too sure about the Poco F1 receiving the MIUI 12.5 update.

This is quite plausible considering that the device is quickly nearing the end of its software support life. However, many users would agree that the MIUI 12 update for the device is a buggy mess.

Therefore, the device does deserve one last update, preferably in the form of MIUI 12.5, that would address all the major concerns.

That said, there has now been a recent development where a user shared their correspondence with Poco India Support. The screenshot has been given below.

As clear from above, the Poco Team is working hard on ensuring that the update is rolled out as soon as possible. But considering the fact that updates are rolled in batches, there could be unforeseen delays in the same.

Now, the message doesn’t really mention the Poco F1 specifically, and hence, should be taken with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, it still does light a ray of hope considering that the representative didn’t really deny the update for the device.

Anyhow, there may be doubts with regards to the MIUI 12.5 update for the Poco F1, but there is a certainty with a couple of other devices, namely the Poco F2 Pro and Poco X3 NFC.
