New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…

Original story (published on January 20, 2021) follows:

The Xiaomi Mi 10T may have been superseded by the recently announced Mi 11 but continues to be one of the best, value-for-money smartphones one can lay hands on in India.

Its Pro version has a spec sheet comparable to Samsung’s S20 Ultra and Note 20 Ultra but somehow manages to cost half their price.

Also, a 144Hz display, 108 MP camera, LPDDR5 RAM, and 5000 mAh battery powered by the Snapdragon 865 is definitely no joke. And the device’s benchmarks and reviews attest to its excellence.

That said, the device, just like any other Xiaomi phone, has been undergoing some rigorous MIUI 12.5 beta development for around a couple of months now. And while a stable MIUI 12.5 isn’t too distant anymore, the device has now bagged the Android 11 update.

However, if you are still interested in MIUI 12.5, then you will be pleased to know that Xiaomi made a fresh announcement regarding the commencement of the MIUI 12.5 global pilot testing program. Of course, Indian residents can sign up for that as well.

But that’s another story. For now, the Xiaomi Mi 10T/10T Pro has bagged the Android 11 update with MIUI 12 on top in India. And if you haven’t already received the OTA notification, you should soon enough.

The update is sized 2.8 GB and comes with the January 2021 security patch for increased system security. To download, simply click on the link given below.

While the update should be installable through the Updater app, you may bump into an error upon trying to install. The process is still completely safe though, and if you haven’t received the update yet, then it definitely is worth a shot.

FYI, this device is known as Redmi K30S in China. And is also sold in global, Europe, Indonesia, Russia, Turkey, and Taiwan variants as well, none of which have received the update to Android 11 as of now.

So yeah, it does seem that the Indian variants are the first to bag this firmware. Nevertheless, be sure to also check out our dedicated MIUI 12.5 update tracker now that you have received Android 11 on your Mi 10T/10T Pro.
