New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 27, 2021) follows:
At present, Realme has opened up the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program to a bunch of smartphones from its portfolio including the Realme X2 Pro, Realme 7 Pro, and Narzo 20.
The latest device to join the beta program was the Realme V5 5G for which the early adopter program was announced yesterday.
For the most part, Realme has opened up the Early Access programs for the devices as per the company’s official timeline that it had shared last year.
Unfortunately, it appears that the OEM has finally run into an undisclosed problem that might lead to a delay in the availability of the Early Access program for a couple of devices.
These are the Realme X3 and Realme 6. As per the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program schedule, the Realme X3 and Realme 6 were expected to join the beta club in January.
However, in what appears to be an alleged screenshot of a conversation with an agent from the company’s support team, the agent has claimed that the Early Access is coming next month for the Realme X3.
Another screenshot of the conversation also highlights the message from the Realme support agent claiming that since there’s only a week left for January to end, it’s unlikely that the Early Access program will go live this month.
As for the Realme 6, a moderator on the company’s community forum responded to a user’s query regarding the availability of the Realme UI 2.0 update by saying the following:
Hey sorry for the inconveniences, we acknowledge that there is a delay for the realme UI 2.0 Early access for realme 6 . Our team is constantly on work to bring that out as soon as possible. So plz hold . Hope u understand.
Unfortunately, the moderator has not confirmed whether users can expect the update by the end of the month or whether users will have to wait until next month.
Considering that Realme may release the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program for the Realme X3 in February, it’s highly likely that the same would be the case for the Realme 6.
Although, in a turn of events, Realme India Support on Twitter has claimed that the Early Access build with Android 11 has been released to selected Realme 6 users.
At the time of writing, we haven’t come across any official announcement from the company confirming the availability of the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program for the Realme 6.
Moreover, the company’s support team on Twitter isn’t always the most reliable. For example, the support team claimed that the stable Android 11 update was released to Realme X2 Pro users, which was completely false.
So we’d suggest taking this information with a grain of salt. That said, the company is also expected to kick-start the Realme UI 2.0 (Android 11) Early Access program for the Realme X3 Superzoom in January.
And while we have not bumped into any information regarding the delay of the Early Access program for the Realme X3 Superzoom, there is a possibility that the company may push back the beta for the device to February as well.
As usual, we will keep a close eye on the situation and will post an update once new details emerge. Meanwhile, stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know more about the status and availability of the company’s Android 11-based skin.
Update 1 (January 30)
12:03 pm (IST): Realme has announced the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program for the Realme X3 and the Realme 6 alongside a handful of other devices.
While the month is almost over, it definitely within the company’s official timeline and thus the information regarding the possible delay can be discarded.
