New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…
Original story (published on December 9, 2020) follows:
Xiaomi has already provided the Android 11 stable update to the likes of Mi 10 series, Redmi K30 Pro (aka Poco F2 Pro), and Redmi Note 9 Pro (India).
While the OEM is steadily working on its Android 11 update for other eligible devices, speculations have been rife that the remaining Redmi Note 9 series devices might get the said update soon.
Now, it seems that Xiaomi might be testing the Android 11 stable update for the Redmi Note 9 (aka Redmi 10X 4G in China), Redmi 9, Mi Note 10 Lite, and Poco X3.
The information comes from the Xiaomi Firmware Updater Twitter handle where it has also been mentioned that the latest OS update might start rolling out for the devices in question within a month.
Since the OEM has not made any official announcements on the matter, this info should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Xiaomi is testing MIUI 12 Stable based Android 11 for Poco X3, Mi Note 10 Lite, Redmi 10X 4G/Redmi Note 9, and Redmi 9 currently. It should be rolling out in a month approximately.
However, the Xiaomi Firmware Updater Twitter handle has proven to be a reliable source for such details which means that the aforementioned info might be true.
It must be noted that the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro was the first Redmi Note 9 series device to bag the latest OS update.
So, it might be possible that the remaining devices in the series might get the same soon starting with the Redmi Note 9 (aka Redmi 10X 4G).
Nevertheless, nothing is confirmed until the OEM clears the air by making an official announcement on the matter.
Hopefully, the aforementioned devices get the latest OS update soon as Xiaomi has a rather large portfolio of Android 11-eligible devices.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
In the meantime, you can check out our Xiaomi Android 11 update tracker to get the latest updates on the topic.
Furthermore, we have a consolidated Android 11 update tracker for all major OEMs and carriers so be sure to go through it as well.
