New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 18, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi recently released MIUI 12 for the global Redmi Note 9 Pro variant while the global Redmi Note 9S got the same back in October.

The wait was now on for the Android 11 update and it was expected to arrive for the Redmi Note 9S, which is known as the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India, in early 2021.

Now, it seems that the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant, which is completely different from the global Redmi Note 9 Pro variant, is already getting the latest OS update.

Multiple users have been reporting about the Android 11 update for the device in question in the MIUI 12 Official Telegram channel.

Also, if you want to install the update manually then you can grab it from the download link given below.

While this update is meant for the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant, the global Redmi Note 9S variant is now expected to get the same in the near future.

However, this is still based on our speculation as the OEM has not made any official announcements about the global Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro variants so far.

It is still good to see that the OEM is already rolling out the latest OS update to the Redmi Note 9 Pro in India.

With this update, the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant now joins the Android 11 bandwagon that already has the Mi 10, Mi 10 Pro, and Redmi K30 Pro (aka Poco F2 Pro globally).

The Redmi K30 Pro has bagged the Android 11 update only in China but a recent development has made matters confusing about the Poco F2 Pro Android 11 update.

That said, we will keep tracking the development of Xiaomi’s Android 11 update and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
