Multiple users of the ROG Phone 3 have been reporting that the Widevine certification on their device downgraded to L3 from L1.

While this issue was highlighted back in December, the OEM has not been able to provide a fix for the same.

Now, a ZenTalk community moderator has stated that the ROG Phone 3 Widevine issue is being investigated and a software solution is being worked upon.

The actual cause of this issue is still unclear and the OEM has also not provided much clarity on the matter.

Moreover, users were asked to visit the service center in order to get the issue resolved but the issue required a larger addressing.

This is simply due to the fact that a lot of users are affected which further indicates that the problem might indeed be related to software.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 users, facing a similar issue, were also asked to visit the service center but it is unclear whether the issue was fixed for them or not.

Nevertheless, Asus ROG Phone 3 users will have to wait until the OEM releases a fix for the aforementioned problem.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
