Android One devices from Xiaomi have had a share of their own issues mostly related to software updates.

Xiaomi has always done a pretty decent job when it comes to monthly security patches. All Mi A series devices are always updated with the latest security patch.

And while the company never faltered with respect to the promise of two Android OS updates, the experience soon after installing these updates has often been disastrous.

Take the recent switch to Android 11 update for Xiaomi Mi A3 users. Sure, Xiaomi was well placed to push the update on New Year’s eve, but then it meant some Mi A3 users never got to send their family and friends happy new year messages.

Why? Because Xiaomi, like several other times before this, pushed an unstable Android 11 update to the Mi A3, causing devices to brick and thus become useless.

Quick solutions have since been provided and even a newer, patched-up version released to the Mi A3. But all this time, the action was limited to the global variant of the Mi A3, leaving those in Europe spectating.

Well, as per some reports on Reddit, it seems time to join the wave has come for folks in Europe as the update to Android 11 for the Mi A3 has just started rolling out in the region.

Xiaomi has yet to make any official statement on the release of Android 11 update for the Mi A3 in Europe. Also, we still haven’t come across the firmware package for this region.

That said, details of the firmware version arriving on the EEA ROM for the Mi A3 are still unclear, but we do know the OTA package weighs in at 1.4GB, just like the global version.

The changelog, shared below, also remains unchanged:

– Improved notification shade
– Conversation bubbles
– Better permissions management
– Improved DND mode

Since Xiaomi already addressed the issue that caused global Mi A3 units to brick after the update to Android 11, folks in Europe can rest assured that this release is working fine, at least as per one Redditor.

Updated, phone seems to be working.

But of course, no piece of software is ever free from bugs here and there, especially if its Xiaomi’s Android One. And indeed, we already bumped into several Mi A3 issues after the update to Android 11 here.

A techy. Besides phones, I also enjoy the farm, music, football, and, of course, food.
