Original story (published on January 11, 2021) follows:

Samsung is rolling out updates left and right for its smartphones. A few devices have been receiving the company’s One UI 2.5 skin whereas others are getting the latest One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11.

The new Android version was first made available for the Galaxy S20 series back in December and has since then become available on several other devices such as the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy S20 FE.

Most Samsung phones that bagged the new software received it earlier than expected and it seems the same might be the case for other eligible devices.

A couple of days ago, we reported that TELUS updated its software upgrade schedule wherein it listed that it will begin seeding the Android 11 update for the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G in Canada on January 20.

In it, we also mentioned the fact that Samsung usually rolls out software updates in Europe ahead of most other countries. And well, it seems that has held true in this case.

This is because it appears that the South Korean giant has started rolling out the update to Android 11 alongside One UI 3.0 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G in Germany.

The firmware bears the version number F916BXXU1CTLL and also brings along the January 2021 security patch as per details captured on SamMobile’s database.

At present, the One UI 3.0 update is only hitting Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 5G models sold in Germany. However, it’s likely that we’ll see it rolling out in other regions soon.

Matter of fact, the beta program for the device just ended in South Korea, and thus users in the country may receive the stable update next.

Moreover, the standard Galaxy Z Fold2 (non-5G variant) could also pick up the software update within the next few days.

Having said that, you can check out our dedicated tracker to know more about the availability and status of One UI 3.0 for all eligible Samsung devices.

Update 1 (February 03)

06:59 pm (IST): Galaxy Z Fold2 users in Hong Kong have begun receiving the update as well. This may signify a wider rollout in all of China.

It’s finally here! Android 11 on the Hong Kong version of Galaxy Z Fold 2!
