Android 11 has been under development for the past few months as various OEMs rush to develop, test and deploy stable and beta builds of this new version of Android to eligible devices.
We have a dedicated Android 11 tracker that’s closely following and keeping tabs on all Android 11 development from various top Android OEMs and you can check it out here.
Not to be left behind, we’ve seen admirable progress from OnePlus. The company even managed to roll out stable Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 to its flagship OnePlus 8 series about a month after Google’s own devices.
So what about other eligible OnePlus devices? When does OnePlus plan to roll out OxygenOS 11 to other devices such as the OnePlus Nord?
Well, OnePlus hasn’t been very forthcoming with info regarding this subject and last we heard was this unofficial report hinting towards a November release, which obviously never came.
We are closely following this device’s prospects for an Android 11 update and to learn more on the status of OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus Nord, check out this coverage.
With the absence of any official info from OnePlus and the recent slump in updates that users of OnePlus Nord devices have found themselves in, it is understandable that these users would take to community forums to seek a way forward.
And that is exactly what one user did. In response, the OnePlus customer care rep fails to provide any info regarding OnePlus Nord’s OxygenOS 11 update.
In a shared screenshot of the apparent conversation, the customer care rep further urges the OnePlus Nord user to look forward to an update to the device sometime this week.
From the previous exchanges, however, it is highly unlikely that the update would be based on Android 11 and as such, the wait for OxygenOS 11 for users of the OnePlus Nord is still on.
It remains unclear what the hold up is for the OxygenOS 11 update to other eligible devices. However, seeing the sheer number of issues being reported by users of OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 8, maybe OnePlus should take its time with the other devices.
