New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 11, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi has been pretty consistent in compiling and addressing bugs that may usually arrive with the latest updates, or even the underlying bugs. A weekly MIUI bug report is published regularly on the Xiaomi forum.

The OEM had addressed bugs related to MIUI 12 swipe up gestures, frequent reboots on the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and call hanging up issues on the Redmi 9C and Redmi 9A in last week’s bug report.

Continuing the streak, Xiaomi has once again published their weekly bug report with ample focus on both MIUI 11 and MIUI 12-related bugs for Redmi Note 9 series and various other devices. The weekly report also mentions the present status of each and every bug.

Frequent crashing and rebooting incidents were captured on multiple devices and the root cause is what appears to be an MIUI 12 incompatible notification, which was sent by France’s SDK provider.

This led to an abrupt flash on the phone’s screen and the device being rebooted to recovery mode. The OEM is in touch with the parties involved and is awaiting a solution.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 9 series became the victim of not being able to hear other’s voices while on a phone call. Redmi Note 9S (Redmi Note 9 Pro in India) handsets on MIUI 11 are the ones facing this issue at this moment. More reports are emerging as days are passing.

Xiaomi in their bug report has stated that they are receiving feedback on this issue and a fix is probably in the works. Now that the company is investing a significant amount of time and energy in Redmi Note 9 series’ updates, a quick-fix is something users can expect.

In addition to this, there are multiple reports of Redmi Note 9 Pro Global and European users on MIUI 11 facing random reboots.

There’s no word on the root cause but the issue is already with Qualcomm, and a new case for this issue has been generated. Looks like the chipset manufacturing giant also has a role to play here.

FYI, this is the second time this bug has appeared in the weekly bug compilation after being highlighted in last week’s report. This issue seems to be developing more. Therefore, a bug-fix becomes important in this situation.

Once again, we have a repeated entry of an ongoing bug associated with ‘Find the device’ that is troubling multiple users, forcing their devices to reboot and get closed unexpectedly.

Although Xiaomi hasn’t provided any clarity on the matter, users speculate that the ‘Airtel Thanks’ app is the main culprit here.

However, Xiaomi’s assurance for it to be fixed with the next OTA update comes as a ray of hope for the affected chunk. But in case this issue has seriously messed up your device, you always have the option to visit the nearest service center (Indian users) for a temporary build.

Xiaomi is focusing extensively on improving the user experience with routine updates and improvements on their custom skin. With a user base this big, it becomes a crucial convention to build a smooth UI.

Update 1 (December 15)
