This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on August 21, 2020) follows:

In the past few weeks, we have seen major milestones towards the release of Android 11. We’ve seen the Android 11 Beta 3 update being released for many of Google’s eligible devices.

Other OEMs such as OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi have all been seen testing out their custom skins on top of Android 11 ahead of the upcoming official release.

Not to be left behind, Asus is also looking to have an early start on the development of Android 11 for its devices starting off with the Asus Zenfone 6 from 2019. This device is powered by the Snapdragon 855 and launched with Android 9 Pie, making it eligible for Android 11 based on the two-major-Android-updates trend in the market today.

With that, Asus is today inviting ZenFone 6 users who are interested in trying out Android 11 before the official release to sign up for the Beta program.

This recruitment, Asus says, will run from August 21 all the way to September 4. This should give interested users ample time to sign up for the program. Upon closing of the recruitment period, a list of successful applicants will be announced come September 9 through their email.

These are the pre-requisites for users who are interested in testing Android 11 on their ZenFone 6 units.

-Sign up for ZenTalk and participate passionately in forum interaction!
-Owns the ZenFone 6 (ZS630KL) phone.
-Be familiar with Android phone operations and be willing to take an active part in the experience.
-Understand instability and variables in internal testing.
-The phone has never been unlocked.

To sign up, users of the ZenFone 6 have to do the following on their device. They’ll first need to go to System Update, select the upper-right gear on the system update page, and select the registration beta test activity. Asus says that if you can’t find the option to enroll in the Beta test program, update the system to version 17.1810.2008.171.

It is nice to see Android OEMs not wasting time and beginning works on their upcoming skins on top of Android 11 even before the official launch. Could this mean that Android 11’s adoption will also happen faster than previous releases? We can only wait and see how that pans out.
