This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (Nov. 17) follows:

Poco F2 Pro, which is known as the Redmi K30 Pro in China, came out in May with Android 10-based MIUI 12 out-of-the-box but now, the wait is on for Android 11.

It was reported way back in June that the Poco F2 Pro would soon receive the beta 1 update of the latest OS along with the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

While the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro have even bagged the stable version of the latest OS, there is still no sign of the same for Poco F2 Pro.

Now, some development appears to have taken place where the Product Marketing Manager and Global Spokesperson at Poco Global has stated that Android 11 was never advertised for the Poco F2 Pro.

The statement from Angus Kai Ho Ng came in response to a tweet by a user who wanted to know the status of the OS update which was announced on the Poco Global Twitter handle way back in June.

We’ve never advertised android 11, we mentioned we will have up to 3 years of MIUI system updates and system updates when it’s available.

It is unclear why the Poco executive denied the advertised info about the Poco F2 Pro as the announcement tweet is still present on Twitter.

Also, Poco F2 Pro is an Android 11 eligible device as it has not received any major OS update except the alleged Android 11 beta (AOSP).

So, the statement from Poco’s Global Spokesperson is contradictory at best as the announcement Tweet is still live while the device in question is as new as it can be for an OS update.

It must be noted that the Redmi K30 Pro (aka Poco F2 Pro globally) has also bagged the stable Android 11 update in China which clearly suggests that the OEM has been working on the OS update.

Nevertheless, the contradictory statement from the Poco executive has made things complicated as users have been expecting the latest OS update ever since it was announced.

We hope the OEM sheds some light on the matter soon and clears the confusion about the latest OS update for Poco F2 Pro.
