[Re-added] Android 11 update moved screenshot button from Power menu to Recents screen, some Google Pixel users want it back

Android 11 is indeed a major OS update but there are only a handful of prominent changes it offers as compared to Android 10. Among them, the revamped Power menu.

Instead of a tiled bar with power options popping out from the edge, the Android 11 Power menu now has a standalone screen with a bunch of options.

The new Power menu has tiles for Power, Lockdown, and Emergency at the top while Home actions and Google Pay are also part of the menu now.

However, there is one option that has been relocated to a different section with the Android 11 update and users of the Pixel 2, Pixel 3 and Pixel 4 series devices are not liking it.

The screenshot button, which used to be in the Power menu, has been relocated to the Recents screen and some Google Pixel users want it back in the Power menu.

It seems that Google might have moved the screenshot button in order to improve the accessibility but that is not what user reports suggest.

Also, there are workarounds, like switching to a different navigation style, but no one wants a workaround for something that was never broken in the first place.

In fact, these workarounds do not appear to be solving the screenshot button problem for Google Pixel users running Android 11.

For those suggesting work arounds, they all take extra steps and added inconvenience so stop with the “I figured it out”, no you did not, you must have not used the 1 button feature if you think you figured it out. Is there a way to revert back to the previous version?

The OEM has not made any announcements on the matter yet and it seems only natural as there are not too many reports regarding this.

So, those who are not liking the screenshot button shift will have to stick to the good old power and volume-down buttons shortcut for the time being.

That said, Android 11 is out for a bunch of devices and OEMs are already striving to deliver the latest OS update to their eligible devices as soon as possible.

IST 12:07 pm: The November update for the Pixel phones seems to have added back the screenshot button in the power menu. However, the option is only available when the 2-button navigation method is selected as per users on Reddit.
