Asus ROG Phone 3 has been well received by users across the globe simply because of its benchmark specs for heavy gaming.
The ROG Phone 3 has had multiple issues like black crush, device not charging, auto-brightness, ghost touch, and overheating.
However, this has not stopped users from pushing the device to its limits and now the OEM is rolling out a new update to the ROG Phone 3 with a bunch of improvements.
The latest ROG Phone 3 update comes with version 17.0823.2008.70 and brings along many fixes and an amazing feature to improve the gaming experience.
The new ROG Phone 3 feature is called Bypass Charging and it can be accessed from the Game Genie panel. The Bypass Charging feature provides power to the ROG Phone 3 without charging the battery while gaming.
The ‘Bypass Charging’ feature is added to Game Genie, and can be enabled in-game , to temporarily allow power to the system by plugging in the charger , yet not charge the battery. This feature can prevent system from heavily draining battery while playing games yet avoid the charging of the battery which can in instances introduce extra heat.
This further enhances the gaming experience and also prevents the device from heating up while conserving the battery life and longevity.
Apart from this, there are fixes for irregularities in the display brightness after unlocking/locking the device, updated APN list and security patch, and much more.

4. Fixed the issue with display brightness irregularities after locking/unlocking device
5. Fixed mobile network instability issue with HK network
6. Fixed the manual screen refresh rate cannot be maintained in low brightness
7. Improved display quality when playing video.
8. Fixed the issue where the display brightness could become brighter after unlocking the device
9. Fix the issue where in certain instances the original charger and cable could not charge the device
10. Fix issue where in specific cases calls could not be received
11. Fixed SMS issue when used KDDI SIM
12. Update APN list
It seems that the OEM is working tirelessly to maintain the ROG Phone 3 as this update offers a lot of fixes for many of the persisting issues.
This is good news for Asus ROG Phone 3 users as they can now expect a more refined software support from the OEM in the near future.
Moreover, it must be noted that VoLTE/VoWiFi support was already enabled on the ROG Phone 3 in Norway but this update has now enabled the same on the ICE network in Norway.

Asus has released a new update as version 17.0823.2009.98 for the ROG Phone 3 which brings a bunch of fixes and also enables VoLTE on BSNL in India. We have added the changelog for the update below:
– Updated Android security patch
– Optimized system vibration
– Enabled VoLTE on BSNL (India).
– Fixed OK google is difficult to wake up and cannot receive commands
– Fixed Bypass Charging function occasionally not working when enabled
– Fixed issue with left side misalignment of status bar icons after hiding the clock
– Fixed the issue where more than two mouse inputs at once would not work with the Mobile Desktop Dock
– Fixed ‘Developer mode’ crashing when connecting to certain specific BT devices
– Fixed issue where using ‘Double-Press Power key’ to start Camera would cause the device to automatically sleep after 10 seconds.
