Check below this post, new updates are being added…

Original story (published on August 22, 2020) follows:

The Redmi Note 7 Pro and the Redmi Note 7/7S released with Android 9 Pie onboard alongside MIUI 11 and have been in line to receive the MIUI 12 update. Speaking of which, Xiaomi first announced the MIUI 12 skin in its home country — China.

As with other MIUI version updates, the MIUI 12 skin brings along a boatload of new features and improvements for eligible devices. Therefore, Xiaomi users with eligible phones have been looking forward to receiving the stable MIUI 12 update on their devices.

Some models have already bagged the stable update while others such as the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Redmi Note 9S haven’t even got a beta update alongside MIUI 12. The Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7/7S have also received the MIUI 12 update.

But the update has not yet rolled out to users in all regions where the three devices are sold. Like most other Android vendors, Xiaomi tends to release updates at different times in different regions. Traditionally, the company rolls out updates for its devices that are sold in China first.

This is true with the Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7 Pro since both devices have already bagged the stable MIUI 12 update in China. Xiaomi has also released the stable update for the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Note 7/7S in India.

However, the update isn’t available widely and as per Xiaomi’s official Global ROM update tracker, the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 7S and Redmi Note 7 Pro is still under testing in India. We’ve shared a screenshot of the same below:

Matter of fact, towards the tail end of July we had reported that the MIUI 12 for the Redmi Note 7 Pro was released for Mi Pilot testers in India. Sadly, the update still hasn’t been released for the general public.

Similarly, we had reported that Xiaomi released the stable MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 7/7S in India. But as Xiaomi’s official tracker suggests, it too is still under testing in India. Adding to the disappointment, the company has not shared any ETA for a wider-rollout.

Typically, the Mi Pilot testing phase lasts only a couple of weeks. But this hasn’t been the case for these three devices. Although, the company’s Indonesian website shared an MIUI 12 update roadmap in which the Redmi Note 7 is expected to receive the update this month itself.

That being said, keep an eye out on our MIUI 12 update tracker to be the first to know when it arrives on your device. As usual, we will continue tracking the situation and will post an update when more details are available.
