New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 11, 2020) follows:

Pocophone F1 bagged the MIUI 12 update last month but only for Mi Pilot program members. The idea was to test the software quality and address any underlying issues before going for a wider rollout.

Another update was recently released for the Poco F1, as it is known in India, as version 12.0.1.0.QEJMIXM along with the August security patch. This update was also meant for a limited number users maybe because the OEM wants to ensure that everything is in order for a wider rollout.

However, those who received the update or installed it manually noticed that there are some issues that are still persistent from the first MIUI 12 beta stable build. While users have been reporting about these bugs constantly, it certainly appears as if the reports went unnoticed.

The new update for Pocophone F1 does bring along some improvements like the apps banned by the Government of India are not present anymore. But some underlying issues are still present and it is unclear when they will be addressed.

We closely follow all development related to the Poco F1 MIUI 12 update and it was observed on the Telegram Poco F1 beta testers group that many users are still reporting about the previous MIUI 12 build’s issues.

While not all users have received the latest update, those who have received it are also reporting the persistent bugs but the group admins have something else to say about it. Users are getting warned for asking for ETA for fixes or the stable version in general.

This is only natural as the Poco F1 MIUI 12 stable update is highly anticipated and users have been waiting for it since a long time. Nevertheless, the admins are even banning some users for constantly reporting about the same bugs and asking for ETAs.

This is a tad disappointing considering no incremental update to address the common issues has been released so far and the OEM seems to be in its own space with the development of Pocophone F1 MIUI 12 update.

A group admin has stated that the issues in question have already been reported to the developers so there is no point in reporting them again and again. Moreover, OEMs usually do not comment on the ETA of the updates but the admin has assured that the issues are indeed being worked upon.

Well, it is understandable that OEMs work tirelessly to deliver the best user experience but leaving users to their own thoughts can be a little too harsh. So, simple acknowledgements can bring a lot of relief to regular users at times.

That said, we hope Xiaomi looks into the Poco F1 MIUI 12 issues and releases a much more refined update soon. Meanwhile, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker if your Xiaomi device is yet to bag the latest custom skin.

Update 1 (October 10)

The latest MIUI 12 update for the Poco F1 has removed pre-installed apps such as the Mi Browser, GetApps, and others which were banned by the Government of India. However, unlike previous MIUI 12 updates, the latest arrival does not include the notice regarding the banned apps.
