New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 13, 2020) follows:
The OxygenOS 11 stable update is already out for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro with a bunch of changes and improvements.
While the Android 11-based update offers many handy features, some users are concerned about a small yet classic aesthetic feature.
The OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) update for the OnePlus 8 series comes without the signature OnePlus Slate font which users did not expect to be removed.
Now, several OnePlus 8 series users are taking to online platforms like Twitter and Reddit demanding the OEM to restore the OnePlus Slate font in the next update.
It must be noted that the typeface in question is indeed aesthetically pleasing and it is only natural of OnePlus fans to root for it.
It is still unclear whether the OEM removed the font on purpose or simply missed it as the issue is yet to be addressed.
It seems highly unlikely that OnePlus ditched the most liked typeface on purpose but this is still based on our speculation.
Nevertheless, we hope the OEM addresses this issue and restores the OnePlus Slate font in the upcoming OxygenOS updates.
Apart from that, users have also been reporting that the OxygenOS 11 update has triggered several issues on the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro.
There are multiple reports of issues related to phone lock, Quick Settings, calls, and flashlight/camera.
Such issues are expected in major updates but considering how long the OEM has taken to push the stable OS update, it seems a bit odd.
That said, we will provide further details when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
In the meantime, you can check out our OnePlus OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) update and bug trackers to get the latest updates on the topics.
Moreover, we have curated a consolidated Android 11 update tracker for all major OEMs and carriers so be sure to go through it as well.
